We began as a mission of the Savannah Baptist
Church (later to be called FirstBaptist Church) on Chippewa Square.
Our first home was called Duffy Street Baptist Church and was
organized on April 15th, 1891 with Reverend E. Pendleton Jones,
Pastor-- total membership was 82.
Life of the Church
-
Sunday School - consists of 27 classes
and with an enrollment of 723 and meets at 9:45 a.m. each
Sunday morning.

Library - begun in 1892 - - is open
Sunday mornings and at Wednesday Lunch and Evening Services.

Vacation Bible School - meets during
the summer and has become family oriented over the last several
years.

"Our Church" - a weekly newsletter
is published each Wednesday and sent to 1,000persons.

Music Ministry - Preschool & Children’s
Choir, Salt Company Choir (Middle & Senior High
Youth), Chancel Choir, Spice Company Choir (Senior Adults),
Hand bells, Instrumental Ensemble; Ladies Ensemble.
Annual Services
Easter - the sanctuary altar is beautifully banked with Easter
lilies given in- memory or in honor of a loved one.
Christmas -festivities includes “Hanging of the Green”
and the decorating of two Christmas Trees.
Special programs to celebrate each Sunday of Advent through music
and drama.
The Tri-Church Festival - (now in the 6th year).
jointly performed outside on Bull Street by the three churches:
Bull Street, St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox, and St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church followed by an Open House and a reception; Candles and
Carols Service on Christmas Eve before the altar banked with poinsettias.
