The event will not take place in
2007. We hope to conduct the tour
again in 2008.
Twenty-one Houses of Worship participated

Welcome to the home of the Savannah Tour of
Historic Houses of Worship . We invite you
to view holiday decorations and to explore
the richness of history and architectural uniqueness
of many of Savannah's beautiful houses of worship.
This annual event was first held in 2000
with thirteen participating congregations
and has since grown to become a highlight
of Savannah's holiday season. In 2006,
twenty-one houses of worship will participate.
During the event, the community is welcomed
into the houses of worship to enjoy self-guided
tours, ask questions, and is treated to
musical performances by organists, traditional
choirs, and a handbell choir. Many of
the participants also provide presentations
on history and architecture while offering
refreshments to visitors.
Visitors may tour any or all of the houses
of worship on the program and may begin
at any of the locations. Programs and
maps are available at each site to assist
you with planning the remainder of your
tour. We recommend that you allow approximately
thirty minutes at each location. There
is no cost to visiting any site.
